It took about one generation from “we are all united workers” to having different classes of housing for elites who then bragged that their entire working class had nicer apartments than America’s poorest class. And, reportedly, those worker apartments were not just multigenerational, they were sometimes multi family in the same apartment! That’s a lot to give up for an unrealized dream of equity and solidarity while they truly destroyed their environment. Every college kid should get a class with an iron curtain escapee as a little balance to the overwhelming bath of Marxism they get from all the professors.

@tefky7964 You made a big leap from me pointing out the failure of central planning in housing to my “wanting” to say everything they did was bad. My desires do not matter here, and neither does every cloud having a silver lining. The only way I see central planning working is by basically fooling people into thinking it’s better. Someone raised from living in a mud hut is easily fooled into thinking many things are wondrous because he hasn’t lived like you or I.
