  1. the US of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" is long over---born dead, actually. our "lives" predicated the deaths of tens of millions of tribal people and the virtual genocide of their descendents in concentration camps, our "liberty" was purchased with 400 years of chattel slavery for tens of millions of Africans, and the only people who have ever had the means to pursue happiness on this continent are the few filthy rich beneficiaries of predatory, ecocidal capitalism, or a few isolated farming families before the frontiers "closed."
