  1. i caddied for JFK a couple of times and stuffed envelopes for him at his election headquarters in downtown Boston. he'd feed us, showing up at 9 PM with a bushel of subs, handing them out with a word or a joke for each of us, not once forgetting my favorite: tuna, no tomato, extra pickles. roomiest heart i ever met.
