  1. Although I agree with some of the premises of the video, vegetarians do make outdated and ill informed claims related to farming. Since 2014 the EPA has confirmed a reduction in agriculture associated greenhouse emissions, as stipulated in a April 2016 study of emissions from 1990 to 2014 (EPA 430-R-16-002). And this study confirms that it now accounts only for 9% of the emissions in the United States thanks to advancement in methane recovery. Another issue is the fact that cows that graze do so on land that cannot be used to grow crops for us to consume and that farmers would not likely suddenly convert their crops to human consumables because of the limitations stipulated in the description of this video and the fact that they have incentives to continue growing their crops as is. The growth of certain crops is heavily subsidized and many of these crops can simply be diverted to the production of biofuels, which is a growing industry whose products would be required if more people were to go vegetarian. The demand for fuel would be greater if people were to convert from locally sourced meats to foreign fruits and vegetables. And climate change has caused agriculture to become erratic and unpredictable, so the colder climates may be going further to get certain fruits and vegetables. My country does not import beef from the rainforests but it does import palm oil, which results in significant damage. And it is possible to choose to avoid corn fed beef so is vegetarianism is not the only dietary choice for the future. We are slowly diverting byproducts of our consumption to animal feed, like the leftovers from beer and wine production and those unattractive, underripe or overripe fruits and vegetables that end up in landfills through-out the planet. My country unfortunately wastes 40% of its food, some of which can be diverted to cows, pigs and poultry as feed to replace the corn and soy that's been diverted to biofuels.
