  2. You have to be rich already to buy rare cars and store them for decades. There was probably some appreciation, but I'll bet a lot was spent on getting them to the present day. THEN there is the matter of how old they are. Is your goal to live frugally until you're 85 or what? What is the proper time to sell? Speak with an investment advisor...
