  2. ​ @stuckgrenadepin.225  Half truths huh? There's no oil shortage. The pipeline was meant to increase profit and throughput for a company in Canada. The pipeline was in investment in that energy source... Which was constructed against the will of many people along the way, farmers whose land was stolen with "eminent domain" or extortionate sales under such threat. Natives whose land was stolen from them again and again and who don't want a leaky oil line going through their land. All so that a really shitty method of producing and transporting oil could take place. Nuclear emissions are nuclear waste and radioactivity. Yeah, radioactivity. And the pipeline doesn't leak. Well, in the real world it happens. I happen to think there is a future in nuclear energy, but we have to be open eyed about the costs of it, and it really is a field that needs more research. Always. We need better breeders. We need to search for fusion. And above all we need a sealed cycle for nuclear waste. The track record is shitty, you know that.
