  23. This kind of repair is resolved through the market. That is, the "BMW battery" or the Tesla battery required the whole pack to be replaced if that one piece breaks, but the "Ford battery" or the "Toyota battery" allowed you to only replace the broken piece; ergo sales/resale value. If the piece breaks enough it will hurt Tesla. Probably just randomly screws over occasional Tesla customers at this point, though.

  26. OK. First off, you know full well "we" didn't vote for these taxes. Crazy lords of ours imposed them on us, their serfs. Second, "we" didn't declare independence. That was centuries ago. After the country was formed and government settled, there were no taxes for about 100 years. Most government income was from tariffs. Then there were almost no taxes for the next 50 years after that. And somewhere along the way they just gave themselves permission to take whatever they wanted and call themselves better than Georgius Rex III. They said, it's an emergency, this is war, and the taxes never went away. Now it's a way of life to steal from the people, even though we have an economic system that can exploit global markets to funnel money to our people. That's called being the reserve currency. Rule Britannia, brother.

  32. That's totally what I was doing into my 20s or even heaven forfend waiting until my mid 20s, buying a house. I just had tons of money and the idea had to percolate my thick skull to spend it on an asset which I could eternally pay taxes on rather than on coke and strippers. I don't know how I got so rich, probably my degree, which was a one way ticket to wealth. Thanks, parents.

I went there that evening before closing, not there. Went again the following day. And I'm inside a locked building where nothing has been stolen!

  40. YouTube was pretty dang good in 2009. Google was pretty good. They were getting a little evil, but nothing like what they are today. I guess it's just fate that they're going to raise system requirements, make the interface worse (somehow) and generally make the site an unusable mess ad infinitum.

If you like you can work out the actual price per foot, but it's much less important if they are liars trying to inflate the value of what they're offering and much more important if the space and the cost is acceptable. You seem to be spending exorbitant time looking for honest landlords.

  54. Still using my 2011 computer, not out of desire but necessity. The hardware is fine (one graphics card fan was failing, but I just disconnected it). Now the software, that's a headache. It's such a damn stuggle to get stuff done online because they keep trying to lock out people who haven't got new systems.

As far as paying for YouTube, I don't really feel like I owe them anything for other people's content. But the hosting? And the "wonderful" comment system? The one that deletes people's comments behind their backs like the system that deletes people's videos behind their backs, or gives someone else their video's advertising revenue? That one I owe nothing to because I am a creator that in principle supports that platform, without which the site would be pointless. I lend YouTube my videos and they pay me interest in the form of access to their bigoted platform.
