  2. My car was made 27 years ago. It has a timing chain, which was made 27 years ago. The engine has never been opened. Now, the timing chain tensioner, which was "interestingly" made of nylon, that wore through long ago and causes some issues. But it doesn't stop the engine, just leads to some rattling at times. Glad I don't have to replace a belt every few years.
