  1. Once upon a time I was moving into a new house. I packed my stuff and arrived after midnight. I decided to unpack in the morning. That night, someone broke into my car and stole a bag of stuff. Among the random things stolen was my old Ecko can opener. I always intended to replace it with the same kind. But I just never did. I always used someone else's can opener or whatever. I didn't need a can opener very frequently. One year, my mother gave me a knockoff leatherman. It has this little hook can piercer. If you work on it hard, turning the can with your hand, you can open a whole lid with that little blade. And that is what I have used for years. And cans with lids I have to cut are disappearing. It's a terrible can opener. But it really is good enough.
