  1. I've experienced the Christmas in summer conversation many times😆. One random American kept arguing with me about it on social media once. I had to try and explain in the simplest terms...what the hemispheres were and that we lived in the southern one. And about the earth's orbit/rotating around the sun etc. Don't think he quite believed me. And still told me we were "weird" for having Christmas in summer. 🙃

  2. Legally speaking, Australia has no official language (nor does the United States). But English is our defacto national language. Or rather "Australian English" lol. (Aside from the hundreds of Indigenous languages that were here long before colonisation of course. ) There's about 300 languages spoken in Australia. English being the most common. Followed by (per census) Mandarin, Arabic, Cantonese, Vitenamese, Italian, Greek, Tagalog, Hindi etc
