@markb3146 exactly. Sick of hearing "Queensland is always hot year round". Just ignorant. Brisbane and south east Queensland are NOT tropical north Queensland where it's warm year round and only two season. It's a totally different climate down south east. And people also don't factor in the wind chill factor in Australia makes it feel colder than the actual temperature. Not to mention the absolute lack of proper insulation in most Australian homes and definitely all Queensland homes. I lived in Sydney for 13 years and moved back to South East Queensland a couple of years ago. I feel colder in my Qld home than I did in Sydney. In winter I have to layer the clothes and blankets inside especially at night..and still not warm. It's often colder inside than outside.

Interesting...as I've heard Canadians who now live in Australia say that they've never felt as cold in winter as they have in parts of Australia, especially indoors. I think some people are bit ignorant about our weather and varying climates , it's far more complex than people realize. Unlike Canada and the US we do not have proper insulation in most of our homes. And central heating isn't everywhere like it is over there. So it's often colder indoors here than outside. It can be excruciatingly cold at night inside many homes. Also you can't just look at the temperature. There's also the wind chill factor in Australia which can gives a real feel of several degrees lower than what the temp says. The weather app might say 8 degrees, real feel 2 degrees for example. It gets colder than 6 degrees in many parts of Australia including Victoria. Many parts get below 0°C , -5-10 etc .
