A lot came to Australia too. We have the Third largest Irish population (outside of Ireland) . United States has the second largest.

Australia is a multicultural country and relatively young in terms of post colonisation 🤷♀️. So we take and celebrate traditions from all over the world. Should be ban Chinese new year/lunar New year celebrations too? Also Halloween is Celtic in origins. And is celebrated in UK and Europe....where most of our ancestors came from during colonisation. Halloween is more low key here, which IS Australian. We do it our way. We don't go over the top with it like America does. Same with Christmas etc. More low key here.

Some of those were hilarious and yea only in Aus😆. YT is getting ridiculous with censorship and is forcing big creators off the platform. If YT was Aussie owned instead of American there'd be less issue lol. With that being said, the anti Halloween sign must've been written by some miserable bastard tbh. It's pretty childish to put that kind of sign up aimed at children.🙄 Usually people will put a sign or decoration out to show they are fine with trick or treaters. And you are correct Halloween didn't originate in America. It's origins are Celtic. And many of our first settlers post colonisation came from England, Ireland, Wales. We do it our way though which is more low key. Same as our Christmases which are more low key, less commercial. Halloween definitely not the big thing it is in America. End of the day we're a multicultural country and a fairly young country in terms of post colonisation/settlement, we are still evolving. We celebrate Chinese New Year with parades and events too and Diwali events etc and I love that about us. 🤷♀️ Our phone numbers have area codes too. Two numbers. Then 4 then 4. Qld is 07, NSW is 02, Vic is 03 and so forth. Often the are code is left off if it's just aimed at local callers. You don't generally use an area code unless you are calling Interstate. So if I call Sydney from Brisbane I need the area code but if I call a number in the state I'm in, no area code.
