  1. Greenland IS considered largest Island because Australia is classed as a continent. It has a continental self and plate. The widely accepted definition of a continent is a continuous land mass which is larger than an island. Australia is too large to be an island and it's already a continent. Some people use the term "island continent" though🙂. Fun fact - Australia has the oldest continental crust at 4.4 billion years old.

  2.  @flamingfrancis  lol. Am aware of the definition of Island, yes technically it's surrounded by water, no one's arguing that. I'm talking about Geographic terms And why Greenland is listed as the largest island. According to many geographers, an Island is a land mass surround by water...that is also smaller than a continent. Australia is already listed as a continent...so therefore it can't also be considered an island. Which is why Greenland is considered by most to be the largest island, not Australia. I will stick with what I've always been taught. But to each their own. 🤷‍♀️
