Ian - if you're interested, maybe you could reach out to Ashleigh Faye for a Collab. She's an American from NY who has been living in Tassie for over a year, studying and now working. She studied marine biology and seals. And vlogs about her life and travels around Tasmania and Australia. She is also a huge coffee fan and talks about that a lot too.

Tassie has some beautiful scenery and places to visit. Definitely worth a visit. The weather can be very cold though, so time your visit right. (Avoid winter, autumn and early spring). They are a missing some convenience things that the rest of the country has but for some that may not be an issue and if you grew up there it's probably not a big deal. I do find the whole 'mainland" thing a bit silly. My friends and I were collectively referred to on more than one occasion as "mainlanders" when asking for directions or chatting to people. It didn't feel like a charming term lol. How about just tourists or visitors? We don't call Tasmanians 'islanders' for example. But yeah if you're in Australia for a good length of time, add Tassie to your list. Along with Far North Queensland, the N.T/central Australia and W.A I see so many people that come do a few days in Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast and think they've "seen Australia".

@onigvd77 It would be interesting to get her thoughts and opinions - American to American so to speak. Plus I think what she's studied is really interesting too. 🙂

@carokat1111 If you like the cooler weather, sure. And certainly visually it's pretty🙂🍁. But Ian said he prefers warm weather. And a lot of people who do visit Australia end up disappointed (and complain) when they come in colder times because they expect it to be hot everywhere here, all the time lol.
