  1. I've lived here all my life and never seen any of these things (aside from the sticky hard lollies/candy place), not even when I lived around Sydney for 13 years til 2021😆. Dipping burgers in cheese is definitely not a thing here. That's so weird haha. Honestly these things seem like gimmicks geared towards tourists in touristy area. While they're interesting, none of it is regular Aussie fast food or desserts. Aside from maybe the matcha products. We have a heavy Asian influence and fusion with our foods so we do have a decent amount of matcha here. Something decadent and unhealthy that Aussies eat - take a look at the HSP. (Halal snack pack from any kebab shop ). It's chips with chicken salt, cheese on top, then layers of shaved kebab meats and a trio of sauces on top, usually garlic, barbecue and chilli.
