Exactly. Over the counter stuff like paracetamol ibuprofen and vitmain supplements etc. But anything that requires a prescription is not advertise. Which I agree with. That should be kept between drs and patients.

There's things that we do in Australia that Americans and other countries find weird or different too. Some of the common ones are: - Dual flush toilets. We have those (and a lot less water in the toilet bowl) for a half or full flush. Australia can be a dry country, droughts in some areas. Water saving helps. - Another thing visitors find weird here is is the beeps and sound at the crossing when you press the button. The reason for that is for visually impaired people. So they know when it's safe to cross. Not everyone has a dog or someone with them. Apparently they've startled some visitors to our shores lol. They are quite loud! - Our power sockets/outlets. It confuses people why we have an on/off switch. Its a safety precaution. We run off 230 voltage on average. Where as the US is 120 I think. Also you can save a little money on your electricity bill by turning the switches off when you're not using things. As some household appliances can still consume energy when plugged in.

Enjoyed this👍. The date thing - you guys just write it the way you say it. As do we in Australia. We say 18th September. Though curiously you say 4th of July?🤷♀️ I don't like compulsory tipping. It's not addressing the real issue. I don't think customers should have to help pay the staffs wage because the employer isn't paying then a livable one. In Australia minimum wage is $20.33 per hour. Employers must pay this. Wait staff can make good money. A lot of people from the UK/US and Europe come here on working holiday visas and fund their stay and travels by working in hospitality. People do sometimes tip if someone goes above and beyond but it's voluntary. A full time employee gets 4 weeks of paid leave on average. Some places have 5 weeks. I never understood why the US didn't just include the tax on the price tag in stores. But I didn't realise it widely varies in different states. Here the GST (goods and services tax) is 10%. So it doesn't matter what state you're in. I learned a couple of things!
