  1. I love Manjaro! Is there anything better? The only thing that's giving me grief is configuring Samba, I remember it being much easier on Lubuntu.

You mentioned that it uses more cpu on an older computer but if you compare the processors (old machine to a newer one) then it makes sense that percent-wise it would take up more power on an old chip than a new one just to run. Unless you compare to other systems and they don't take up as much on the old computer, then it's safe to say that it's not optimized for old hardware. It's nice that they optimized ram usage for old hardware anyway, didn't know systems take that into consideration.

  3. Hey, very useful, thanks! I didn't get redshift to work on manjaro but maybe that's for the better since I do "art" sometimes and I need my colors consistent.

  4. It has higher cpu usage than Gnome? Well that's not good.. I thought Gnome was the biggest resource hog. Yeah, I guess I misunderstood. You're welcome, you helped me by recommending Manjaro, I am hooked on it now! And I can imagine the cost of starting a technical/review channel.

  6. DorianDotSlash Thanks, that's the command that was causing the conflict. I gave up on uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers after a couple of times and reinstalled the whole system instead but this time through architect and without selecting any drivers. Then I booted into console using your acpi trick (because it hanged) and installed the drivers with exactly the first command and it worked! So thank you for solving my problem, I am now configuring Manjaro to my liking, it looks awesome and I love it so far!
