  1. Yes but by the advent of care in the community that wasn't true. I have met a lot of people with lived experience of the old asylums & residential communities & they miss them & say that's what they needed (not all, some had horrible experiences)

  3. Have you worked with seriously mentally unwell people as opposed to people with diagnoses of serious mental illness that is well managed? When people are in the grips of psychosis they are often not able to perceive how you are acting. I am always respectful & kind to people I work with but still some will sincerely believe I am an imposter, someone in disguise, plotting to kill them etc & they behave accordingly

  5. And we need to massively resource & improve children's services. Childhood trauma is what all children in care & many of the adults in mental health services & the criminal justice system have experienced
