@user-bn4cx5zw6w most single mothers I know have only left their kids' dad because he was cruel, & . I left mine because of those reasons. And he never gave me any money and created a huge scary drama if I asked for any. I've worked & brought up kids & definitely haven't benefited financially from that.

Have you ever read Invisible Women? That to me explains really well my understanding of the patriarchy, it identifies how society has been built around men & men's needs, particularly in terms of infrastructure. I also agree with you that society has in some ways become culturally feminised

What about single mothers who have been widowed, or left abusive men, or been abandoned? Every single mother has her own story

Where's your data from? Singme fathers are already exceptional as either they have been widowed so have been maintaining a marriage or they have chosen to take on a full time caring role. Very unusual. What I think is missing from these discussions are when the separated parents co-parent amicably. Then the children still have the benefits of both parents. The children with worst outcomes are the ones with no father in the picture.
