  1. I'm with Aayan Hirsi Ali - all cultures are not equal. Western culture is extremely flawed but imo- comparatively it is superior to current Islamist cultures. As an woman, & especially as a single mother, I would be insane to want to live in say...Somalia or Afghanistan over somewhere like UK or France. That's not to say that other cultures couldn't be superior to current Western culture.

  3. From what I have read, in the 60s Afghanistan was a safe, progressive country, women had equal rights & could study, work, dress as they like. The government was Socialist and under threat from the USA and its CIA re regime change so they invited the Soviets in to protect them. However it didn't work like that- the Soviets were a trojan horse. So it was geopolitics that destroyed Afghanistan and enabled regressive Islamism to take root and wreak terrible destruction
