  2. He means in the sense that it is desirable that people are respectful including to those they disagree with. Not that people should be criminalised for wrong think.

  3.  @disappointedenglishman98  It doesn't mean accepting anything or even respecting views, it means not distracting or dehumanising people & being generally civil. Disagreeing vigorously if necessary but in a way that accepts that we are not our views or our race/sex/religion etc & that where we disagree on some things we may agree on others. I personally don't have an issue with gay marriage. I don't judge you as a massive bigot who should not be listened to you on every topic just because you do.

  4.  @disappointedenglishman98  I understand that most people who are currently on this mad authoritarian side identify as being on the left. I think they are as much on the left in reality as men who identify as women are actually women. As in, they're not. Identity politics & gender ideology is in direct conflict with actual left wing politics which is essentially materialist in analysis & class based. Marriage is a legal state so if a man is married to a man legally then that is a fact. You can disagree with that law & I respect your right to.
