Shouldn't it be possible to do both? If people are on a very low wage the state ends up subsidising that through tax credits etc & that allows employers to continue paying low wages.

@TheBruvleigh there will always be types of work that is lower status or lower skilled. There arent enough enough higher status jobs for all adults. Any full time job should pay a decent enough salary to sustain a reasonable quality of life. Using Macdonalds as an example, a multinational corporation like that can afford to pay a living wage.

@James_36 you're so right. They've perverted the concept of class so that people who eat avocados think they're not working class even if they are in a gig economy & will never earn enough to buy a home or retire
