There is no evidence base for this policy. The majority of children who experience gender dysphoria desist by/during puberty IF not affirmed. But if affirmed, children are likely to go onto puberty blockers & close to 100% of those then go on to cross sex hormones. Also many children identify as the other sex at points (when I was 6 I used to say I was a boy). This is an incredibly harmful policy based on ideology not evidence and certainly not on children's best interests
