@ViceroyoftheDiptera Tom Ben already said it, Izzard is an adult male = a man. Painting stripes on a horse doesn't make it a zebra.

@ViceroyoftheDiptera or maybe, man with an understanding of reality & enough backbone to tell the truth?

@johnweston6300 do you call that a definition? So 'a woman is anyone that identifies as a woman' doesn't in any way answer the question what js a woman? In the same way 'a prime minister is anyone who identifies as a prime minister' doesn't explain what a prime minister is. I can tell you what a woman is: an adult human female. Each of those words are themselves able to be clearly defined without circular logic

@nikikeophavone @niki k why should an administrative role go to a woman? And why should it matter who hurts & who gathers? Gender as a personal belief system should not dictate anything societally, we have sex discrimination laws that prohibit that with only very few defined exemptions where sex is relevant. There are roles specific to women ie representing women's interests, carrying out personal care/treatment, working in a women only service & transwomen need to respect that as they should re sports, as you said, & women's spaces. Caitlyn Jenner being woman of the year matters because a woman has lost out on representation. Transwomen being transwomen is fine until it impacts women. Here it impacts because a woman has lost out on a spot. Also truth is important- Jenner isn't a woman. He is welcome to dress however he likes but dresses/make up/surgery does not make a woman & it's insulting & dishonest to say that it does.

@johnweston6300 of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) which can be fertilized by male gametes. "Male pattern offending is significantly different from that of female offending' "The male seahorse takes the responsibility for rearing the young"

@johnweston6300 no, why do you ask that? 'Of the sex class that...' - that means regardless of individual capacity. Eg one could define a car as a four wheeled motorised vehicle- if it loses one of its wheels it's still a car- just a car with a missing wheel. However a man (adult human male) is not a woman because he cannot produce large gametes, as he is not of the sex class that would do - he is of the sex class that produces small gametes (regardless of his individual capacity)

@johnweston6300 The definition is the definition, John. You can't understand it for some reason (maybe look up the word class or the original meaning of the word gender - meaning type/class & nothing to do with sex stereotypes) but that is what the word female means. Do you understand how to define words now? Want to have another try with the word 'woman'?

@ViceroyoftheDiptera Take it up with Stonewall not me: https://www.stonewall.org.uk/what-does-trans-mean Sounds a bit like you are denying their trans identity though- have you joined the terven? 😁

@nikikeophavone because gender is entirely made up & no one can even explain what it means. How does it differ from personality? A man can be feminine or masculine but however his personality is it doesn't make him a woman. People talk about 100+ genders but no one can name them except man/woman (sex words not gender words) & the in-betweens (NB etc) which actually everyone is (as no one fits 100% into gender norms) hence no one is. We & are bodies are one but our bodies don't define our personalities. If you just take a step back from the ideology just for a second. .....can't you see how it's all based on NOTHING? It's the most superficial, nonsensical, individualistic, meaningless, SEXIST ideology I've ever seen. Its a distraction from a life lived with meaning. You don't have to keep tricking your brain into believing in it. You can focus on much more substantial & important things

@ViceroyoftheDiptera ah sorry, sent wrong link. If you Google Stonewall crossdressing, the first search results says it there. Cross dressing is always included in pictures showing the 'trans umbrella' eg https://www.scottishtrans.org/trans-rights/an-intro-to-trans-terms/transgender-umbrella/ I do not subscribe to any of this stuff, none of the logic adds up & it contradicts itself all the time so I just like pointing that out. 'Transphobia' has become so all encompassing that even trans people & 'trans allies' frequently say things that contradict the doctrines & could be seen as transphobic. I really hope that logic returns to you at some point. There is so much more to life

@johnweston6300 you know that dictionaries exist? Look the words up. I have already given you clear definitions for both

Now you try

Eddie Izzard pushes his reality on others without consideration. In his autobiography he wrote about using women’s toilets to change into women’s clothes & he did a whole thing about some teenage girls chasing him out & what horrible bullies they were. HE is the bully, a grown man going into women’s toilets & not respecting women’s rights to privacy & safety. Luckily there were three girls together but imagine if only one young girl had been there on her own with him - she'd have been terrified
2
He is. But now he knows that the world is primed to fawn at anything with the prefix trans so he is going all out & expecting people to believe he's a woman now. And too many do.

Cross dressers come under Stonewall 's trans 'umbrella' so by their rules there is no confusion- a cross dresser is trans

@nikikeophavone @niki k Gender roles have existed for much of our history (there isn't any way of knowing what they were in cavemen/prehistoric times) but they have changed massively over time. Eg there have been times when men wore wigs, make up, heels & it was seen as masculine. Where women have preferred things seen as masculine (& of course they have as men have often been given more freedom & better roles/tasks) it didn't make them men. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs & self identity even sexist ones. I believe that gender as an ideology restricts & harms men & women but it impacts women more as it is used to keep women in subordinate/submissive roles, it cements the axis of power. Transwomen do sometimes take directly from women eg if they compete in women’s sports or take their representative roles, violate their spaces. They are welcome to femininity though, women don't need that.

@jerradmarsan2220 Eddie can choose his third person pronouns all he wants - that's just attempting to control others' speech & the rest of us have no duty to comply.
1
@jerradmarsan2220 how is it basic manners to lie, and how is it basic manners to expect me to & call me a piece of shit if I don't?

@TheBinarygenius public toilets, unless specifically designed to be safe for multisex use, are not safe environments for women if men access them. The whole area is a separated, enclosed space with only one exit, cubicles are not floor to ceiling.
1
@TheBinarygenius why do you think we separate certain spaces by sex currently? Are you suggesting we stop doing that completely? I'm getting the impression you haven't given much thought to this
1
@TheBinarygenius to clarify, you are advocating for an end to sex specific spaces in general? Including hospital wards, dormitories, prisons, changing rooms, toilets etc? All or just some of those?
