  7. In Ireland the Taoiseach is elected by the Dáil. There has never been a Taoiseach elected by the people in history.

  8. The Irish don't hate the British, we feel sorry for the British people. There is a reason why the British are the largest immigrant group in Ireland: because we share a great deal in common and because Ireland is a more normal functioning country. Looking at the UK today I am reminded of the story of the boy who could the see the Emperor had no kit on.
