@johnmclean1046 I'm sure the Scots will allow the English to drive on Scottish roads, ffs.

@davidjordan6159 The people of Scotland voted against Independence and against Brexit because they value EU membership. The English people voted for Brexit and took everybody else out of the EU - England does not exercise the will of the people of Scotland or Northern Ireland.
5
@davidjordan6159 Yes, but in a democracy you are able to change your mind, and they voted against independence in large part because they wanted to stay in the EU. Are you pretending not to know that?
5
@matty6848 Yes, the vote was as one country - because the UK constitution on this matter is not fit for purpose. The whole of the UK is now being governed by English nationalists. Scotland voted against Brexit - it is governed by Scottish nationalists. Northern Ireland voted against Brexit, at a time when nationalists there are coming into the majority. The United Kingdom is not a Kingdom United. The GDP or GNI of a country is not considered when it comes to joining the EU' according to EU sources it is likely that if Scotland gets its independence in the next decade it will be fast tracked into the EU because it has cleverly maintained much of the necessary criteria on purpose. There is no evidence that Scotland will be another Greece - this is just something English nationalists tell themselves as a comfort blanket. To the English, nobody in the British isles can do anything without them. The Greeks lied about meeting the criteria to join he Euro and may have lied about their suitability to join the EEC in 1981. Scotland will use the EU to decouple from the British economy and to provide the counter balance to Englands economic gravity, just like the Irish have done. If the Irish can do it, why can't Scotland? It will have NONE of Ireland's disadvantages at independence,

She doesn't need to do that yet - she has not got a second referendum. During the first referendum the SNP DID produce such a document and lost, which is fair enough. Brexiters never produced any document and some of them just made up all kinds of incoherent promises which means the were able to win the referendum but will never be able to deliver Brexit. You can be sure the SNP will not seek to copy that model.

@davidgranvillehunter6231 If necessary. Under the GFA NI can have a referendum on unity every 7 years once the first one is called. When the facts change, people change their minds. What do you do?

What an odd comment.

@neiljohnstone6282 If course she wants what is best for Scotland, you just don't agree with her. Don't confuse the two.

@jamesfleming6469 Won't tell them what?

@tightnoose5611 The fact that these people were needed in the UK economy. No there are labour shortages. For the non-xenophobes, Brexit was also German pensioners getting paid more pension than UK pensioners for a group of old women from Manchester that I spoke to. Brexit was about getting extra money for the NHS Brexit was about cheaper food and shoes Brexit was cheaper houses. And so on... I don't understand Brexit at all - it is completely incoherent.
1
@tightnoose5611 Why would the Scots drive through England to get to English ports? They're a disaster since Brexit. The Scots will do what the Irish did and bypass it, creating new jobs in the process. You would think brexiters would be celebratory and supportive of Scottish independence, given their cult-like love of sovereignty, but instead the English treat it with bitterness and spite. Such is the incoherence of the Brexiter.
1
@tightnoose5611 I would expect there to be a direct ferry route from Scotland to the continent, wouldn't you? There will be another referendum before the end of this decade...
1
@tightnoose5611 Vague meaningless nonsense. You don't get to set the boundary of a nation. Mark my words, the there will be an independent Scotland by the end of the decade. While you are distracted by your hatred of a woman in Holyrood, there are many more moving parts to this story, all of which will serve to expose the democratic deficit in the union you are so comfortable with. It cannot stand. Its a pity you never studied history.
1
@tightnoose5611 If there had been a poll of Scots who voted for independence, you would be independent by now. The odd bit is assuming there will never be one because there was none before. Times are changing, the union has served its purpose. NI will unite with the rest of Ireland and Scotland will eventually dissolve the union.

@rogerbenfield2789 Tell me Roger, on what planet did find evidence that Ireland will leave the EU?
1
@rogerbenfield2789 Really? That's fascinating. How come support for EU membership is comfortably over 80% in the Republic?
1
@tightnoose5611 Your view is incoherent.
1
@rogerbenfield2789 Here's more of that BS: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euroscepticism_in_the_Republic_of_Ireland#:~:text=A%20poll%20by%20European%20Movement%20Ireland%20in%20May,with%20the%20UK%20rather%20than%20with%20the%20EU%22.
1
@tightnoose5611 I'm sorry you feel that way, but as Brexiter, I'm sure you're used to being wrong.
1
@tightnoose5611 I'm not seeing any evidence of that, indeed ypu^re even wrong now. Why has it deserted you?
1
@rogerbenfield2789 What on earth are you babbling about?
1
Scotland seems to like Sturgeon. The Scots keep voting SNP.
1
@adrianrouse5148 Are you suffering from altzheimers? 66% of the Scottish electorate voted to remain. Where is the democratic account to this? Or are we pretending there is no diminished British Demos?
1
She is a civic nationalist, she is not an ethnic nationalist like the English. The Scots believe they are as good as any other nation. The English believe they are better than everybody else. Huge difference.

I think you need a lie down, pet.
