@Jo Sm My favourite is still the EU claiming they would support Ireland, doing it, and then Brexiters trying to explain it. As Teresa May said to Barnier, 'why do you support Ireland, the UK is a more important country'. 'Because Ireland is a member', replied Barnier... In 2017 Varadkar, in order to increase political Irish capital in the EU, volunteered to increase Irish contribution to the EU budget, provided it would not see a reduction in farm subsidies for Irish farmers. He got that. The Irish want the EU to succeed. The UK red-tops, misrepresented this deliberately so as to keep Brexiter morale up. After all, Brexiters never expected the EU would support the Irish over the UK.

@Jo Sm I'm not lying mate. What part of my post do you need to believe is a lie? Remember the UK media has been wrong about everything in relation to Ireland and the EU so far....and you don't get our media in the UK. Why would I lie?

@Jo Sm Ireland got in early and volunteered to increase its payments ahead of any formal discussions. The EU does not demand anything, it is all done by consensus.

@Jo Sm i' saying that you are wrong. He said that Ireland would increase it payments provided it did not result in a reduction in farm subsidies for Irish farmers. This is because the Poles were seeking a change in the criteria for farm payments that would suit their much larger (formerly collectivised) farms.

There is no majority on the island of Ireland for the removal of the NIP, or any concerns with regard to the ECJ. This is just English nationalists / Brexit fundamentalists acting the tough guy.
