Comments by "Taint ABird" (@taintabird23) on "Johnson tells Varadkar no-deal Brexit 'would be a failure' - BBC News" video.
Support for EU membership is running at 93% in Ireland, and Varadkar is representing his people very well. We remain the UKs friends, but true friends do walk all over their smaller neighbours interests... If he was to roll over for Brexiters, he would be considered a UK puppet.

What shite?

According to the Irish constitution the name of state is 'Eire', or in the English language, 'Ireland'. Republic of Ireland is a description of the state. Our man at the United Nations sits behind a little sign that also says 'Ireland'. As the sovereign people, the Irish have chosen their own name for their country. The border in Ireland was put there by the British government at the behest of Unionists. Irish nationalists were not consulted and so it has nothing to do with them.

Its become a prosperous and progressive outward looking state filled with Irish people confident in their identity.

But you are NOT ruled by a foreign power. You are equal member of a political and economic union called the EU. When you feel superior to other countries, such equality can be seen as oppression. This is quite different from the political union called the UK and its much more considerable democratic deficits and dominance by the English.

In a country where support for EU membership stands at 93% [May 2019] it is difficult to see who is being betrayed by him - except maybe some west Brits like yourself.

That's not a 'fact' Mary.

With friends like Brexiters, who needs enemies.

Ireland has already broken ties with the UK.

Nobody is blocking Brexit. The Irish just decided to stand up to the assumption that Ireland would roll over for Brexit and leave with the UK. As you can see from the body language of the two Prime Ministers, the Irish are clearly not insignificant players here and the English Taoiseach knows it. This is what Brexit means for the UK. Get used to it, its what you voted for.

Liar. You never mentioned that at all. All that's bothering you is that an English dominated UK is far weaker on the world stage than you deluded yourselves in thinking it was.
1
The English would need to grow a pair in order to do that...

@sanyachirpas1898 including Brexit.
