Comments by "Taint ABird" (@taintabird23) on "Brexit FAQ: Will Problems with the Irish border stop Brexit? - BBC News" video.
@ Danny Montgomery And those myriad of reasons were identified, tackled and remedied. The treaty had an addendum guaranteeing Irish neutrality, and the treaty was put to the people again - and they passed it. Ireland voted twice in referenda on the Nice treaty, 3 times on abortion in 35 years, and is about to have a 3rd on divorce since the mid-80s. In the UK that is considered 'undemocratic' - in Ireland, being able to change your mind is an essential for its democracy, while the vote itself is an expression of the sovereignty of the Irish people. You don't have either. Your entire post is representative of the levels of ignorance that underpin Brexit. The English are all in favour if Irish sovereignty as long as the Irish abandon it when it suits the English. Some things never change.

@errol chandler The UK contributed £7 billion towards the €65 billion bailout. It was offered to protect the exposure of British banks to the Irish bank collapse. Ireland tried to pay off the debt in one final lump sum last November (2017), but the UK Treasury refused it. Therefore your analysis is inaccurate. Brexit has revealed the levels of sheer ignorance of Ireland that exists in the UK. You people are the laughing stock across Europe.

The UK was on the same side as France in the First and Second World Wars.

People who live along it will tell you differently. A friend of mine lives in Dundalk and works in Monaghan - both in the Republic. The road he takes to work crosses the border 5 times and he does this twice a day. 'Total nonsense' indeed.

It was always a hoax...Brexiters never actually expected to win.

Why would the Irish leave the EU? The UK is the only tin-pot dictatorship in Europe.
