  1. @ Kieran Greene If Ireland was to be united you wouldn't want to approach it all triumphalist and strategy-free as the UK has approached Brexit. There would have be a longish run-in to a timetabled, negotiated unification, and the Republic would have to sacrifice some sacred cows along the way for this new Ireland (new flag, anthem?). Demographics suggest it will happen over the next two or three decades, one way or the other. What Ireland does not need is this Brexit nonsense breaking up the UK in some way and forcing the situation before anyone wants it, that's for sure.
