  1. Because all EU countries that are affected by Brexit are entitled to EU funding to provide infrastructure to develop their economies. In the case of Ireland, France, Netherlands and Denmark for example, money is available to help redirect exports away from the UK, whether it is in terms of port infrastructure or accessing new markets. That's how the EU works - it supports its members.

  8.  @oldseadog3386  Its not a bail out, France, Denmark and the Netherlands also received funding to help redirect trade away from the UK. In Ireland's case it will help the redevelopment of Rosslare Harbour with its increased ferry routes to France.
