  2.  @nigeljohnson9820  These are EU laws regarding standards and regulations. Abandoning certain laws and regulations will mean you cannot sell your products in the EU. Then you will be limited to your own market. Very sad. This is the reason why UK government cannot and will not run away from the standards and regulations, especially as many of them were British in origin anyway. The UK needs to be able to sell into the EU.

  4.  @nigeljohnson9820  What countries export into the EU and ignore EU standards? Why has the UK business refused to change its standards for the UK government? They want to stay with EU standards. Why, if there is an advantage for the UK in adopting new standards?

  5.  @nigeljohnson9820  No they don't. There is no business sense in holding TWO sets of standards. British business have made that clear. They have EU standards and the UK is maintaining them for that very reason.
