What that the Irish Freedom Party have ignored - as you have done - is the other side of the balance sheet which is the value of EU membership in comparison to the value of going back to the Ireland of the 1950s which the Irish Freedom Party is seeking. It is the same ploy pulled by the UK print media and it is straight out of the UKIP play book. But it won't work, the UK is in decline and Ireland is not. Ireland is a richer country than the UK, per captia. Ireland is more democratic, has a more free press, a more globalised economy with a more productive workforce. Ireland has made a success of membership while the UK has made a pig's ear of it. The difference between Ireland and your country is that Irish people are secure in their identity and while the English are not - and the English call the shots in the UK. There is nothing for the IFP to exploit.
