Brexiters and their victimhood! The UK is now in a permanent state of weakness when it enters negotiations with the EU, China, Brazil, India, Russia and the USA - the big boys. This is the new relationship you voted for, though it is taking some people longer than it should for the penny to drop. The UK is in this mess because it tried to leave without a plan and because May called a general election which resulted in her needing the support of the DUP to stay in power. This has tied her hands. We all know if that were not the case, the border of CU and SM would already be down the Irish sea, which is what most in NI actually want. The DUP don't represent the majority view in NI. What a self-made clusterf*ck.

Anita French British people living in the UK are entitled to free medical treatment and all the benefits the Irish get. That's why so many of them live here. The Brits are allowed to vote in Irish elections, though not in the Presidential election. Please base you oppression on some facts.

@ Archie Andrews Odd isn't it. Such warnings of dire consequences the UK are ignored as project fear and yet the consequences for everyone else are believed by Brexiters.

@ Nigel Johnson The UK was a mess when it joined the EEC in 1973, and even needed a bail out in 1976. The UK is a mess because of decades of appalling domestic governance and for some reason it is the EU that is getting rap for it. When are the English going to grow up and admit they have failed themselves?

@ Nigel Johnson The UK was always a net contributor because it did not claim back enough of the cash FOR ITS OWN PEOPLE. Some of the most economically deprived places in the whole of Europe are in the UK, and yet UK governments and local authorities never drew down funds available to help communities that were left behind. Had you done so then you would not have been net contributors with a sense of victimhood about it. You failed yourselves.
