Comments by "Taint ABird" (@taintabird23) on "Sinn Fein leads in poll for first time ahead of Irish elections" video.
Sinn Féin are driven by one goal - a united Ireland - and have no time for the fantasies that underpin Brexit. They have moved from being Eurosceptic to being 'Euro Questioning' (don't ask) since they backed the wrong horse during the Lisbon II referendum, and being in power on both sides of the border is their wet dream. In order to achieve this, they needed to tone down their rhetoric on the EU so they could be electable in the Republic. They have not run enough candidates to form a government on their own, so they may opt to go into opposition with a view sweeping into power in a future election.

@chucky2316 Yes, I am aware of the deficit at the heart of British democracy thank you.. Only 1% of Irish voters considered immigration to be an issue when voting on Saturday...

Except for those who take him seriously.

They're running 10 candidates in 10 constituencies and usually lose their deposit. There is no appetite to return Ireland to the 1950s - they're out of touch.

Bennett McCoy That attitude is a real vote winner. Look forward to losing your deposits again.

Bennett McCoy I never use such an insulting epithet, in fact, in my experience it is usually Brits that use it. Under the Irish constitution your Irish heritage, if you value it, entitles you to be recognised as being part of the broader Irish nation. The Irish Constitution is full of such inclusive left-wing stuff like that. Suck it up.

Bennett McCoy Billions of what? People? Money? Can you back up any of you hysterical claim with evidence-based facts?
1
@thejoin4687 Probably not.

@chucky2316 Just because the are not racist does not mean they want mass emigration from anywhere.
1
@chucky2316 The British did not vote to leave the EU, the English did. And they did so because of failed domestic policies and due to unease at Britains declining influence in the world. I have no interest in your conspiracy theory.
1
@chucky2316 The English have never wanted or requested a referendum on independence. They need to grow a pair.
1
@chucky2316 I'm not ignorant of that at all. I would argue that they left the wrong union.
1
@chucky2316 Yes, you left the wrong union. Thats my point.
1
@chucky2316 But Wales does not want an Indyref and neither does NI, though it may want to unite with the Republic in the future.

@mrrooter3630 I don't think Labour is an option, is it? Labour only won 4 seats.
1
@mrrooter3630 Well, lets give them a chance. I suspect FF will go in with them.
