The big deal is that post-Brexit, the value of trade with the EU will decrease and the cost will increase. About half of the UKs trade was with the EU. There is simply no logic in putting up barriers to trading with your nearest neighbours just because you also have barriers to trade with countries that are far away. In short, you are not replacing the trade you lost.

@normannabatar6260 It doesn't, and why would it? War is a great way of showcasing the products of an armaments industry, and the war in Ukraine is a great distraction for the English public who like to see the UK as 'important'. It does not change the fact that the UK has been a bad faith actor to the EU, which sees agreements with foreigners as fluid. The UK is an unreliable friend. It is also the reason why an RN Carrier group was sent to the south China Sea. Nostalgia for past 'importance'.

@normannabatar6260 A bloodlust will only help to foment WW3. Most of the EU are in NATO anyway, independent of the EU bloc.

Ireland has never held a vote to leave the EU, you complete plank! It only rejected Lisbon in protest at the governments assumption that there would be a Yes vote in favour without the government explaining WHY the Irish public should vote in favour of it. It really is laughable just how ignorant the English are are about Ireland and the EU.
