  9.  @eddiel7635  Ffs... The whole point of article 16 is to provide a temporary facility to ease problems at the customs border. It does exist just to be triggered as you seem to think. How will triggering article 16 solve the problem?

  11.  @eddiel7635  The UK will not renege on the Protocol. There are no votes for the Tories in NI and Boris Johnson knows the Tory membership are willing to sacrifice NI for Brexit. Polls have told us this. It is also the case that the silent majority in NI are in favour of the Protocol as it presents unique investment opportunities, and Unionist opposition will not result in a return to violence. Remember, it is the UK that is changing the status quo not the EU. Any trade war with the bloc will be a disaster for the UK.
