Comments by "Taint ABird" (@taintabird23) on "Brexit is FINALLY happening! This is an end of an era.British people took destiny in their own hands" video.
Let us be clear about who this person is. Huhtasaari believes that the European Union is going to collapse and Finland should leave it. She also wishes for Finland to withdraw from the Ottawa Treaty and Paris Agreement, as she is a climate change denier. She is a creationist and has stated that the theory of evolution is a 'totally impossible theory'. Huhtasaari is a supporter of United States President Donald Trump.

She's an anti-EU, creationist, climate change denier from Finland.

@Cactuskid118 Except that no scientist claims that God is responsible for the Big Bang, while creationists believe in the Biblical origin of species.
2
@zaftra You are making a false equivelance. Science is based on fact based evidence while articles of faith are based on belief.
2
@kellykordzinski8854 I'm glad you rest your case, I have no interest in a discussion on your pseudo-scientific beliefs. My comments were in the context of Brexit. If you have any light to shed on the subject, I look forward to hearing about them.
2
@zaftra Well you went to alot of trouble. Thank you.
2
@zaftra Your post puzzled me. For the record, reading back on my posts, Im not sure how you thought i assumed science provided all the answers...
2
@scotsmanmike Of course you do!

@mediaguyberlin Is that what it's called now?

@kellykordzinski8854 Well she has certainly made up her mind...but does somebody who believes in creationism have an open mind? Is it logical for a scientist to disbelieve the 99% of scientists who believe that global warming is manmade are wrong, and that evolution is an 'impossible theory'? Incidentally, she was also found guilty of plagerizing large portions of her M.Sc. Can a cheater be trusted? I think most rational thinkers would consider her an oddball.

@boudecia22 'You cannot cancel out someone's valid comments on one subject simply based on previous comments.' I'm not 'cancelling' any comments. However, I would question the 'validity' of comments from any person with a Masters in Science who also thinks 'evolution is an impossible theory' and that creationism - an article of faith for which there is no scientific evidence - is the answer to life on earth. Just because she and I might agree on certain political, social or economic views also, it would not avert my suspicion of her.
1
@scotsmanmike Way out of what?
1
@boudecia22 Yes, I know. Einstein believed in God. Or god as you prefer. So what? It does not mean they should take the Bible literally in the face of scientific evidence.
1
@Cactuskid118 I made my point previously. Creationism is not based on scholarly research. And while Einstein believed in God, he was not a creationist. This lady has an Masters in Science which it appears she partially plagerised, and so has less than stellar credentials as both a scholar and perhaps in terms of her character. Therefore, any rational person is inclined to be suspicious of opinions and motives.
1
@zaftra No. Theories and hypothesies are based on rational deductions that have yet to be scientifically proven, or unproven. An article of faith, by its nature, cannot be proven scientifically and frequently are not based on reason.
1
@craig581 I never heard anyone claim that climate is man made.
1
@zaftra I agree wlth much of what you say. However, the origin myth of creationism has no scientific basis, it is a human construct for which there are many examples across cultures as any anthropologist will tell you. The biblical version is the Jewish one. As for climate change, it has been known for a century that C02 causes global warming. The overwhelming evidence, accepted by the vast majority of scientists, is that human activity is the cause of todays global warming episode. Unlike with the first Neanderthal theory you mention, which was first put forward not very long after Darwins theory was published, we have been studying this subject matter for much, much, longer... This is one of the reasons i consider the speaker in this video to be a charlatan.
1
@craig581 And the scam is...
1
@Keepingitrespectfulmostly. The question was in reference to climate change.

Because it would be an oxymoron.

@boudecia22 Why do you think the UK is a democracy?
1
@Poultrymad "The mother of parliaments" is a phrase coined by the British politician and reformer John Bright in a speech at Birmingham on 18 January 1865. It was a reference to England. His actual words were: "England is the mother of parliaments". The UK is not the mother of all democracy, as you claim - credit for democracy lies with the Greeks who invented the concept and coined the word Demos from which we get the word Democracy. I notice that your claim that the UK is 'certainly 100 times more democratic than the EU' is not supported by any evidence. I think if you were to examine this claim in detail you would be inclined to quietly withdraw it.
