  6. No. The EU does not ask anybody to give up their citizenship - it asks them to add an EU citizenship to their national citizenship. Unionists in Northern Ireland who feel oppressed by Brexit and possess and Irish passport, are both British and EU citizens. This entitles them, for example, to have freedom of movement in Britain and across the EU.
