Ireland is a democracy, unlike your own country. In Ireland, an important aspect of democracy is having the right to change your mind. Ireland has had three referenda on abortion, two on divorce, and two each on the Nice and Lisbon treaties in the last 40 years. Contrary to claims from the ignoramus class that rule your country, Ireland was never 'made to vote again' as this is not allowed under the Irish constitution. It voted on different treaties or legislation each time, until the legislators got it right and the Irish people accepted it.

Ireland's debt to GDP ratio is lower than the UKs.

Because Brexit died at birth, in June 2016, when it encountered reality.

The Irish and the French did not vote for Brexit, sorry.

@songsmith31a Yes, the Irish lived happily ever after, and that is all that matters. Democracy does indeed take many forms, none of includes what passes for it in your country in 2022.

@thequietman7817 On the contrary - that is precisely what they will do. They will take their independence and pool their sovereignty with the other small nations of Europe. It is just a matter of time...

Who is Padrig Pierce? How is the EU a 'Commy Dictatorship'?

The ECB/IMF provided a loan of €65 Billion in 2010, the UK a mere €3 billion, which has been paid back. Ireland never asked anybody for a loan - it was bounced into the bailout to protect the Euro and the British economy.

Somebody has to be the grown up when dealing with the Tories.

Stupid comment.

The Loyalist community trusts nobody - they think everybody is going to sell them out. Like the Tories have done.

There is no majority in Northern Ireland in favour of Brexit, and no majority in favour of unilateral action on the protocol in Northern Ireland by the British government. Brexit and DUP duplicity are responsible for the Brexit tensions, along with the civil war inside the Tory party.
