  1. 'Southern Ireland is now used as a pawn by the eu, because they did not want to be part of the UK.' Ireland has not been part of the UK for a century. Far from being used as a pawn, it was the Irish who got the EU to make the border it central issue, because it is the single most important issue for the Irish. The EU stood by the Irish because the Irish are EU members and the UK are leaving. 'The eu insisted that the 16th amendment was illegal if used by UK but they were prepared to use it their selves.' Obviously this was a mistake.
