Your diplomats claim that the UK is losing its influence:
http://theconversation.com/diplomats-reveal-concerns-over-uks-waning-influence-on-un-security-council-103043
The fact is that the world's trade is run by either large single economies like the USA, China, India and Brazil, or trade blocs. Only states like the Holy See, South Sudan, Western Sahara, Montenegro, Serbia etc, trade on WTO ONLY, very country on the planet is either starting, or strengthening, regional trade blocs. When the UK leaves the EU, it will find that trade finance, never mind trade itself, is going to become very difficult. The country will, automatically, cease to have all the trading rights it enjoyed as a result of its EU membership. That currently amounts to nearly 90% of the countries on the planet. Yes, it is economically stupid.
And you will be negotiating trade agreements with the big boys from a position of weakness...
That is the reason why Europe needs the EU;the collective amplifies the power and indeed the sovereignty of individual member states.
'Do we respect the democratic institution that voted on this issue?'
To what are you referring?
