  4. No it was not. Just preparing to pounce. Putin played him. Trump was a disaster. Putin knows Trump would do nothing to stop his take over of Ukraine. Then further unaposed to take Moldova, Georgia and to continue. No more autonomy for them. Trump is a peacock swayed by flattery, too easy prey for Putin and other dictators after the destruction of a fair and peaceful world order. Trump is too self serving, he does not have the vision to see what would happen if these things are just left to wander.

  6. No way would that work. Putin has now openly acknowledged that he will not shift untill all his conditions are met. What he has not outlined is that his ultimate aim is to take control of the whole of Ukraine and Shogu has also stated that Russia fies nit accept Zelenskyy is the rightful president of Ukraine. What that means is, they would not honour any agreement made with Putin and even if they did sign some sort of peace plan, they will not stop. Maybe pause, but just continue with the destruction of Ukraine as a separate country later after one, two or more years.
