Seems to me Orban considers Ukraine cannot win this war and they want to be on the ‘right’ side of Putin if and when. As a EU member with all their western military equipement friends to share info with Russia? Recently a (possibly Russian fan) boasted that Hungry was the only EU country doing well economically in comparison. If so, they would move from being a subsidiaries dependant to being a net contributor to the EU monetary pot. So doubt Orban woukd want to claim that to keep the finances floweingbfrom the EU. I believe they are takers of Russian oil, so hold the short term view that with winter approaching being friends with Russia is their main concern. So sad that they are such shallow thinkers. The bribes their leaders are getting tying them to Kremlin bullies will not bode well for the citizens of Hungry in the future. Are they counting on another ‘rescue package’ on par with the one with Ukraine for their future? Not do sure, after such betrayal the West would be so willing anytime soon.
