  1. @teddykayy maybe because the only bother this is to Russia is they have to care for thousands of evacuees. With just the one off payment of $100, plenty for them to find new accommodation! They do not have to worry about the atrocities their occupiers are committing in Ukraine. So a completely different situation. I do not think Putin really cares if those people decide they prefer to be part of Ukraine. He is quite happy to flattern his own people to ‚show his strength‘.
