@iainw5081 Zelenskky is supporting his people. They do not want to be at the beck and call of a murderous Russian despot. Putin does not have good plans for those he holds by bribery. Putin was best friends with Prigozhin. Putin financed and supplied weapons for the formation and adventures of Prigozhin’s Wagner Group mercenaries, look what happened to him: apparently playing with grenades within his plane mid flight! And many more of Putin’s cronies fall from Highrise windows or drink the wrong sort of tea. Good luck claiming to be Putin’s friends.

@et2709, So what is the point clever clogs? Dictator takes any amount of a neighbouring country he feels fit to do so? All his ”reasons” to invade have been lies. If you go back to the first day of the invasion, each one has changed day by day as the previous has been exposed as not true. NATO? There was no intension to invade or harm Russia. They were free to live happy lives. Russia has had a boarder with NATO co-founder Norway since the start of that alliance. Putin knows Norway was no threat to the equilibrium. If fear of NATO was a real reason then it backfired. Putin’s irrational actions (remember to go by what he does - not what he says/lies) have caused several neighbouring countries that have more experience of his follies than you into now wanting to join NATO. Including proudly remaking neutral Sweden and Finland. Putin wants to glean back as much pre Soviet land as he dares go for. That is the main and only real reason for this invasion. Everything else is just fabrication to dupe foreign countries of his true intentions. He admired Stalin and wants to be also be huge Name for the history books. Books he is incidentally rewriting as we speak! But that is another story.

Putin is the one invading Ukraine. Ukraine has no sights on owning any part of Russia. You are being hoodwinked if you believe such rot. Putin is responsible for any non-progress in his own country. His invasion plans cannot deflect from any short comings he has for his own people. He is yearning for the power of the old Soviet Union imperialistic aims. Ukrainians only want their freedom. And rid of the Russian military off their land.

The Russian people would be well served by the exit of Putin from their lives. But elections are upcoming in 2024. Putin had already rigged it in the Kremlin that his presidency could be extended beyond the original legal terms, so no doubt, just like the staged illegal annexed land “elections” these will be fudged to his advantage yet again. Welcome to the Eastern idea of dictatorship rule by default.

@tube2012ful Peace for Palestine yes, but Putin has assisted Iran to indoctrinate (Wagner) and arm HAMAS, which is not in Palestine’s interest. HAMAS did not invest in infrastructure to help the Palestinian citizens, but in hate and weapons. None of this will enhance the Palestinians lives. I wish the Palestinians peace and happiness, HAMAS only want destruction and power.
