@geoffreymaloya4799
NATO did not ask Ukraine to join. Ukraine did not request to join before Russia invaded.
Ukraine gets support because Russia invaded.
After the dissolving of the Soviet Union Ukraine owned a lot of nuclear weapons. In an attempt to make the world a safer place all nuclear powers were in discussions into how to prevent any dangerous escalations.
Ukraine agreed to give up its weapons in exchange for guarantee of protection should they be attacked by an outside force. Signed by Ukraine, Russia, the U.K. and the USA.
Russia went back on this agreement in 2014. No consequences followed, so Putin staged this follow-up ‘Special Operation’. Feb.2022.
No wonder he refused to call it a war.
This is not NATO helping Ukraine, it is all these individual countries. uK and the USA. Signed that agreement. The other ex-Soviet countries because they understand Putin’s real intentions and want to live under the vice of .Russia no more than Ukraine does and the western
European countries too because they also know too well that Putin cannit be trusted, goes back on his word and becausevPutin has been messing around poisoning people in other countries, comings war crimes in Ukraine, causing havoc in Europe and in .Africa.
No-one would have done anything, just left the status quo if Putin had not invaded a neighbouring sovereign country.
Putin was not afraid of NATO. He knew they were peaceful having been neighbours with Norway since it was formed. This was just one of his many lies.
In fact he is to blame that Sweden and Finland decided to join. They would have preferred to remain neutral, but Putin’s overbearing attack on a friendly neighbour, Ukraine, made them decide to apply to join NATO for extra protection.
He has single handitly increased not decreased the presence of NATO in Europe. .

@bobbymozza, so you are taking Putin at word?
They raced towards Kyiv, took control of the airport and Putin already had a replacement for Zelenskyy prepared.
Only because they were stopped in their tracks and thrown out of Bucha, Chenoble, the airport etc did. Putin come up with this offer of „peace“.in Ankara.
Boris Johnson did NOT tell Zelenskyy to reject the plan. He said the decision is his. Do not feel pressurised and the U.K. is behind him, what ever he decides.
Why did Zelenskyy (his life had been threatened) not run away like the USA offered?
Why did he not trust the „deal“ the Kremlin had prepared?
Because he knew Russia wanted more and would just come back again. Georgia, Chechna, Belarus, Moldova, Poland, Lithuania etc., they all know that a) Putin does not hold to agreements and b). He wants the whole of Ukraine.

@MrSyntheticSmile I have been unable to find where I read that. He did not say he wanted it back or nullenvoid. I read it as part of his interest in re-evaluating Soviet/ Russian history.
I did find this though from January
„“ Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a new decree relating to Moscow's historic real estate holdings abroad, a move interpreted by ultranationalist bloggers as a foundation for future revanchism against Russia's neighbors—and even the U.S.
The decree, signed by the president late last week, allocates funds for the search, registration, and legal protection of Russian property abroad, including property in the former territories of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. This would include Alaska, swathes of eastern and central Europe, large chunks of central Asia, and parts of Scandinavia.
Russia's Foreign Ministry and its presidential administration's Foreign Property Management Enterprise are directed to carry out the work, ordered to find, register, and protect the "property" in question“

@davidthenotorious3600 why do you believe the Kwatch that Ukraine did not want to befree themselves from the situation they were in prior to 2014?
Putin was interfering in their eastern oblasts. Sending insurgents to cause a unrest against a free Ukraine. They wanted rid of their corrupt officials that were taking back handers and selling them short to Putin. He had conceded to give 80% of their tanks to Russia, gave up planes too. The uprising was home grown, they wanted the oppression from Russia stopped. There are many Ukrainians that can tell you this, historians, socially aware, those that took part in the protests.
Why do you listen only to the warped self-serving rhetoric from Putin. He who set up most of the conditions they were protesting against?
As now, other countries, neighbouring and far away were willing tinsupport Ukraine against the bullying, but no one was telling the Ukrainians what to do.
If Putin wanted good relations with Ukraine, he is certainly going the wrong way about it.
The other countries, Balkans etc that were once part of the Soviet Union relish their freedom from that alliance and are certainly not queuing up to share Putin‘s vision of a return to those dark ages, so what makes you think it is different for Ukraine. That their citizens are incapable of making up their own minds on how they want to live?

Accurate info from .Russian sorcery are so very hard to come by. However what we DO know is
“As of July 1, hundreds of attacks by Russian forces with cluster munitions have already been recorded in the settlements of the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions.”
Ukraine has been dismantling those they received from the USA to use as individual shots. Received during a shortage of regular ammunition. (I believe used individually attached to drones).
Exactly what happened that day in Belgorod will become apparent later or at the end of the war. All will be revealed.

@joelcutting3954 No, it was rantings by Farage. Boris before politics, when he was a journalist reporting from Brussels caused a lot of the distrust (with inventive for drama purposes reports ie straight bananas!) Conservatives under Cameron were in charge. They were not in touch with concerns of the general public and Cameron offered a referendum, convinced it would end nagging and once and for all show that the people were in favour of staying in the EU.
But it backfired. The influence of the lies told over the years and given the vote too many people ticked to leave.
A referendum is supposed to be taken as recommendation only. Not as direction from the public, but the government, and the Labour Party opposition too, did not want to go against majority rule, so put leaving into action.
Cameron resigned, leave clearly was not HIS wish and buffoon Biris took over.
And we are where we are now.
Too much water under the bridge, we are out, and that is that.

That old chestnut. This has nothing to do with NATO. Russia already had a boarder with NATO. Along the Russian Norway boarder and Russia knows they were no threat.
You really have not grasped that Putin is a proffi liar? Read Aleksandr Dugin’s “foundations of Geopolitics” , these are his true motivations. To reclaim soviet power. Bribing, insurgents, was not working, so he has decided to come in with the big guns, for his name to enter the history books.
The neighbouring countries know this well. Hence rather than decrease NATO is espanding, Sweden and Finland will join after years of being neutral. They no longer want to trust in the promises of despot Putin. This is his achievement. And Ukraine which had no intention of joining, will do so too eventually.
So no, NATO never was Putin’s real reason for invading, but if it had been it has all gone terribly in the wrong direction for him,

@daleviker5884 Putin is the one lusting fir war. It keeps him in power and his citizens in line under treat of imprisonment, or a fall from high windows.
Putin bombs churches, schools, hospitals. He has abducted thousands of children, told them Ukraine does not exist and that they are now Russian, Ukrainian chikdren in the occupied areas and being taught how to fight - for Russia.
Putin has back tracked on all of the past 8 official documented agreements he signed. Unless there is a genuine guarantor this planned Peace agreement is worthless. He will be back in ten, fifteen years to complete his genocide and continue with his plan to capture all the now independent but previous soviet countries.
We want peace. Zelenskyy serves his people who want peace. Putin is the aggressor, he could make peace tomorrow by taking his invasion forces back home.
Putin wants to eradicate Ukraine and their culture. As when he banished the Crimea Tartar from Crimea when he stole the land from Ukraine 2014.
With or without signature, Putin will be back, 5,10, 15 years after signing he will continue continue his quest to capture all since Independent ex-soviet countries.
Unless Ukraine gets a real guarantor protection.

Paul, yes, that was Putin’s aim. If he forces a “peace” with stealing only the five sections he already mentioned including .Crimea, then in a few years later he will come back for more, Moldova too.
He wants Ukraine to be gone. Ideally he wants Poland too and would likely carve up the western parts of Ukraine between Poland and Belarus. (But surely he must see with Poland being a member of NATO that unlikely, unless ,,, well maybe Trump can help? )
He has already re-written the .Russian school history books and has told the children they stole that Ukraine, their place of birth, does not exist.

@YouTuberr285 nothing to do with Trump. You cannot stop something that was not there.
He has though caused wars. Moving the Embassy and approving the Israeli occupation of the Palistine West Bank emboldened Netanyahu.
Trump is a pupet to Putin, so would not object to Russia taking control of Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Hungry, Poland etc. He does not want a strong EU. (Was he promised a Moscow and Red Sea Trump Tower?)
Trump wanted a weaker Europe commercial buying pact. He is keen to support US pharmaceuticals in keeping their inflated prices.
Trump‘s publicity stunt with the empty peace-signing, did not include both parties that were at war. Palestine, the country under siege!
His bold announcement of the troops withdraw from the Near East gave away to the enemy the crucial ultimate time scale, giving no options on protection for those leaving and causing chaos. Plus leaving the supporting allies dry.
The reasson he is so bad at international co operation is that he refuses to listen to experts advice. He is clumsy in approach, which may seem cute to you, but in dealing with different cultures worldwide it is pants.

@miriamweller812. He is exactly ‚like that‘. He was for ever complaining ‚last time‘ that officials were saying he cannot do this or that. It is illegal. He kept sacking advisers because they kept reminding of the rules.
And this Is exactly what Project 25 is about. the plans is to remove the independence of such checks in place. To give more control to one man, the president. To let himself use the military to get things enforced which the public could want to protest about.
Strip them of their rights. Take away the civil servants that work on the administration, so that only what the President wants gets done., whether it has deprimental impact on peoples rights, their property, the environment, drinking water quality. He can override all those things if the ‚deep state‘ ie those upholding your constitution have been sacked!
„He would not do that“. Maybe, but this makes sure no one could stop him if he wanted to. And the guy behind all this has made it clear this is HIS agenda. Trump is so very power obsessed, he would most certainly not turn down this offered him on a plate!
Do not forget his hero of the moment is Putin. He has often remarked that (being a dictator) he can just get stuff done. He admires that.
You want people that disagre with him, not just sacked, but ‚delt with’? With full control over the police, the judiciary, the military he can do whatever he wants. And as a citizen that feels mistreated, you have no regress.

@MsDc52 maybe I am a bit thick, but could you please explsin to me what he meant? Why would non-voters, Christian or not, never have to vote again?
Is it because he is old and does not care what happens to the USA after he is gone? Is is only paramount to him, no one following on?
It is your right and advisable, but no-one HAS to vote.
Is it because he plans to change laws, like he announced earlier on.
Trump told the crowd to “get out and vote, just this time”, adding that “you won’t have to do it any more. Four more years, you know what? It’ll be fixed, it’ll be fine, you won’t have to vote any more, my beautiful Christians.
There, I found it for you!
Translation please:

@cndrih
Why are you so happy about a bully invading another sovereign country? Maybe it is OK for India to just drive troops into Pakistan and declare that land is now theirs? Should Pakistan say, yes, oK thank you very much, our land in now yours? Just take it, our power stations, our grain, our children, our homes, our washing machines, our flushing toilets?
Do you not think it would be better for Putin to spend this war money making life better for HIS soldiers, so they do not have to steal Ukrainian kitchen appliances and plumbing, while he lives in a palace and his favourites (like Prigozhin) hide gold bars in their homes. Until Putin arranged a plane accident to end the friendship.
These accidents, with highrise windows and poisoned tea happen a lot with Putin’s friends he no longer needs, or that know too much.

@davemacdonald5261
That is not true. Putin does want the whole of Ukraine. Feb. 2022 his tanks were directed towards Kyiv. Putin had a replacement for Zelenskyy already prepared.
OK, they did not expect a resistance considering the ease in which the 2014 annexations took place, and so they may seem to have lessened the demands, but that is only for show.
If they demand Crimea and the three newly annex regions (not just the Donbas) this year, then they will be back for the rest by using the same tactics of sending in insurgents, then attack,
Russia’s military commander admitted only last week. “Kyiv is Russian. Odessa is Russian.”
THEY WANT THE LOT!!
Putin himself wrote his vision in 2021. Following Dugin’s 1997 book Foundations of Geopolitics.
You cannot listen to the words spoken by Putin or the kremlin. He is not an honest speaker. (KGB manipulator) who has already re-written history books and changed the constitution to extend his time in power. You have to know what lies behind his words. See what he does not what he says.
Georgia, Chechnya, etc. we here KNOW the workings of Putin. All opposition behind bars!
I do not know how you explain to folks accustomed to freedom of speech and transparency all around them, of how this works in Russia. The same people that believe their election was stollen! The more you come along with the actual truth, the more they are convinced their ill informed convictions are true.

.. @zacthegamer6145 I am very familiar with nature thank you very much. I probably know more plants than you, about outcompeting for space about seasons and companion planting. Some plants do not tolerate each other, some work together like fungi and tree roots, like mosses and clover. Some are parasites that are tolerated, like mistletoe. I know about the food chain and survival of the fittest, but we are not animals, we are humans.
We are programmed to work in communities for the good of the group: to survive long winters or other extremities. We need to create a safe environment to bring up our young, Even some animals do that. Work in groups with ‘Aunties’ looking after the Creche. Yes for the survival of the species.
I do not know what you mean by my agenda, maybe you have one. Mine are only observations, as are yours presumably. However the one person looking out just for themselves is not helpful for the good of any nation. A dictator is generally week inside, a continual need to exert his power in fear of appearing weak and being ousted for it.
Putin changed the law to allow himself to be “re-elected” beyond the number of terms previously allowed. He has no wish to relinquish absolute power.
