  1. And that's only on the 40mm variant used only by Sweden and Ukraine. The 40mm main gun was chosen for the CV90 because Sweden had more surplus 40mm/L60 Bofors AA guns and ammo in cold war mobilisation storage when the CV90 was first designed than our scrap metal industry could process, and our ammo industry could easily develop a 40mm APDS round with enough penetration to skip a Bradley or BMP style anti tank missile launcher completely. The regular export versions of the CV90 has 30mm or 35mm belt fed chainguns, and the latest also carries either a SpikeLR or Acheron ATGM launcher😊

Swapping the barrel on an Archer requires nothing more than locking the recoil system, disconnecting the barrel lock, and then, supporting the barrel with the crane on the ammo supply truck, unscrew the barrel from the breech, switch to lifing up the new barrel, coat the threads of the new barrel with copper grease paste and screwing it in, check the headspacing in the breech, lock in the new barrel and unlocking the recoil system. A 30 minute operation. No dissasembly of the loading system or other assemblies required.

  8. I second my countryman, just like we supported Finland against the Soviet invasion in the winter war, now Ukraines cause is ours! No gods, no lords, no masters! Freedom for Ukraine! And hopefully, it might help the Russian people to some day understand that they would be stronger and better off themselves without dictators or oligarchs lying to them and brainwashing them to attack their neighbours.

  10. Yes, also, It's based on the leopard 2, but, after the officers of FMV along with the engineers at Hägglunds & Söner, Bofors, LM Ericsson and SAAB had their way with the licenced production data package and tooling, it's a lot more than "just" a leopard 2 😊

The list is also a bit misleading as Leopard 2 tanks are used in at least 7 different variants, with two different guns, different electronics, different armor composition, different armor layout, different armor thickness, different hatch designs, different sensors, different radios, different commanders interface, different drivervision options, different active and passive countermeasures.

  16. ​ @TrineDaely  that last part is easy, they aren't Ukranian citizens, they don't have Ukrainian visas, they will be returned to Russia the same way as every other civilian that get caught tresspassing in a country they entered illegally once any applicable criminal investigation of their behaviour during the war has been concluded, fines/restitution and jail time is completed. And any property they own that hasn't been illegally usurped from murdered, kidnapped or exiled Ukranians or is seized to pay restitution to the actual owners of the homes they occupy can be deported with them once the investigations of actual right of ownership has been concluded.
