  1. Anyone looking at acquiring Target is in for a world of hurt. Targets biggest Achilles Heel is Distribution. Target leases warehouse space and uses third-party fleet contractors, they don't control a majority of their own distribution. Even though Amazon is known for their distribution fulfillment centers, they would have to spend Billions on new distribution centers and triple their current fleet just to do achieve half of the sales revenue of Walmart. Target closed all of their Canadian stores (133 locations) because of their flawed distribution system.

  2. Traditional Grocery Stores have nothing to worry about when it comes to Amazon's Whole Foods. Whole Foods because of their very high price point serves a very niche customer base. As long as Kroger and Walmart keep their prices 10% to 20% below Whole Foods. Amazon won't even make a dent in the Grocery Marketshare. Perception is truth, there's a reason why Whole Foods has the nickname Whole Paycheck.
