  1. It bothers me when so-called "experts" don't have the full picture on a topic. If he's implying Disney can compete with Netflix on a streaming level, he sadly mistaken. The largest demographic for streaming are males between 18-49, and the shows that this demographic overwhelming supports is TV MA. According to Disney's own Charter they will not produce any TV MA television shows. At least not on Disney streaming. And without TV MA they got no chance to compete with Netflix or HBO. Disney streaming it's going to be more along the lines of the current Disney Channel what shows the quality of Agents of Shield on ABC.

  2. Bhamski Bam Then why can't the Disney Channel compete with HBO? Just because you have a lot of content doesn't mean you're going to attract subscribers. If that were true Hulu would be the largest streaming service on the web but they're not. Hulu has the combined catalogs of Fox, NBC, ABC, Universal, MGM and Disney. But Netflix kicks their ass.

  3. Bhamski Bam And Disney doesn't own the right to 21st Century Fox yet.. and they're only acquiring certain Fox properties they're not buying Fox they can't, that's against are antitrust laws.

  4. Bhamski Bam Then why did you post the comment because what he's talking about in reference to Disney streaming and that's television. Disney doesn't have a chance of competing with Netflix because Disney will not produce TV MA programming. HBO's success is due to TV MA programming, Netflix's success is due to TV MA programming because it brings in the largest streaming demographic and that's males between 18 and 49. Disney that's great when it comes to promoting a movie but television and streaming that is a totally different animal.

  6. And watering that content down. Disney doesn't produce any TV-MA content. The Marvel 0shows are popular but that's only because of Netflix.

Oh My Grimes Don't forget all of the Marvel/Netflix television shows we're supposed to be produced by Disney's flagship television network ABC but the producers didn't want to water the material down for network television so they took all of these shows to Netflix because they knew they could not produce the television show they wanted to on ABC. Let's not forget what ABC did to the Inhumans, that only lasted 10 episodes before they cancelled it.
